Tried Out For American Gladiator

This past weekend they held more tryouts for American Gladiator at the Gold's Gym in Venice, CA, so 3 of us from Petranek Fitness along with 3 folks from Big John McCarthy's gym headed down there to audition. It was a lot of fun and it was entertaining being at Gold's! lol!

I wrote a blog about it on my MySpace and posted lots of photos (work/family safe):

That is incredible, 30 page questionnaire! Wow, more of a dissertation than application. You guys rocked, and love that picture of Val doing pull ups while the buff girl posing while talking.

AMERICAN GLADIATOR still exists?!? WOW! That's awesome, and a CrossFitters dream come true to try-out for such a thing. Thanks for sharing Becca!

I can't believe that puppy is still around, I guess they're raising it from the dead? Man I used to watch that thing when I was a kid, I can't hardly remember what the heck it was like, except a few events.

Way to get out there Becca! Looked like a fun day.

One of our wrestlers with Pin-Up ProWrestling (wfs if you think women's pro-wrestling is wfs) did the try and got a call back. No word if she got the gig yet though...

Re: Tried Out For American Gladiator

That absolutely rocks!
I loved that show when I was a kid.
I heard they were reviving the show the other night on the radio when I was driving home.
I immediately thought that there'd be some CF'ers who would rock that show to its core - either as contestants or gladiators.

Good luck!

When you think about it American Gladiators is like Ninja Warrior except with angry bodybuilders sporting mullets and spandex trying to hurt you!

Who was the guy that was an older mountain guide or something, and spanked all the young dudes. We was a CrossFit prototype

My friend got a call back for this, and now has to create a training video for the producers. This will be funny.
