is there any benefit to tempos with benching, say doing the bar x 50, for speed?

Changing up the tempo of a basic lift, as a way to mix things up, probably won't hurt anything (if anyone disagrees on this point, please chime in).

However, with that light of a weight, you'd probably be better off just doing pushups for speed. Pushups involve more of the body and are better for building strenth endurance, in my opinion.
