Ivanko non-calibrated bumpers?

Just wondiring if anyone has experience with the new Ivanko non-calibrated bumpers? I know it has been said that the calibrated ones were a bit shotty and prone to splitting, just wondering if these are better? They might be just what I am looking for it they are dependable?

Re: Ivanko non-calibrated bumpers?

Is there a compelling reason you want Ivanko? A quick search showed that they are a bit more expensive. $117 for one 45lbs non-calib. plate, not including shipping, versus $159 for a pair of 45's including shipping.

I have Hi-Temp brand. In my search I found a link to an older post from this discussion board where Hi-Temp was given the thumbs up. wfs

What I am after is colored Bumpers in lb increments without brass inserts. With that in mind the Ivanko bumpers were the only ones I could find that looked like they fit the bill. However, I am not sure on the durability factor? They don't have to be Ivanko though, I just havenít come across any others that meet the preceding criteria.

Ya the lb plates on there do have brass inserts and they are more than twice as thick as the kraiburg brass inserts so they will definitely stand the test of time. However there not colored. Those are actually what I am going to go with if the Ivankos don't work out and I can't find a good set that meets my previously stated criteria.

How about these (link is WFS): http://www.biggerfasterstronger.com/...&search=&page=
I have a few pairs from BFS, they seem to be holding up well.

There's a warehouse full of these near where I live (calibrated Ivanko bumbers) around 1000's most with 5 years + 24/7 gym usage and not a single one has any splitting.

I see. The price I found on the Ivanko's was for the black plates, so the colored ones will be more.

These look to be solid colored rubber without inserts. from wichita falls weightlifting : wfs

Except these are kgs.

Edit: same link that Chris gave above.

Re: Ivanko non-calibrated bumpers?

Thanks for the feedback everyone, I called Ivanko today and was not impressed with the rep or the way the plates are constructed (basically sandwiched multiple layers of rubber and steel). Even though it sounds like Alex has had a positive experience with them, I found out that they are made the same way the calibrated ones are. I know it has been said that those calibrated ones are prone to splitting so I am just not going to take a chance. I guess I'll have to go with black bumpers if I want steel inserts, back to square one
