Another garage gym

Hey guys,

This is my first post here, although I've used the awesome crossfit boards over the years quite a bit for tips and and workouts. Anyway, just wanted to show you my garage gym in San Francisco. It's still a work in progress and not the prettiest gym, but it's functional.

I was into the crossfit thing, but repeated injuries to my ulnar nerve in my elbow has sidelined me for a while. Now I just use the gym to train friends from my church and the neighborhood. Most of the workouts are based around beginner Brazilian jiu jitsu, muay thai kickboxing, mma, and crossfit workouts.

Anyway, hope this helps others in their garage gym creation.
Thanks crossfit folks!

Very cool. How do you find the Fairtex bag? Looks like it'd be pretty soft/light- what do you fill it with?
If it had parents, eat it till you're full My YouTube

Re: Another garage gym

Hey guys,
Thanks for the comments!

Probably the next purchase will be a few stall mats from tractor supply co, but it's about 1.5 hours to the closest one in gilroy.

Regarding the fairtex bag, it's the standard fill that comes from fairtex. you're right, it's a little softer than most bags I've used (water filled winning bag, ringside, etc), but i'm not really looking to deaden the nerves in my shins that much so it works alright. you can fill the bag with rocks if you'd like! jk.

the heavy bag stand is pretty lame, i can only kick it at certain angles without fear of banging my foot on a metal bar.

The swain/ dollamur mat is pretty sweet, it's the 2 inch thick version, so throws are absorbed pretty good. the ground in my garage is REALLY uneven though. The guys who workout with me actually like the feel of the reslite wrestling mat better.
