Re: kettlebells

What adjustments need to be made for using a dumbell instead of a kettlebell for swings?

I think you can sub dumbell swings for kettlebell swings but I was looking over the excercise demos and couldn't find any instruction. Is it as simple as just trying not to hit your nuts with the dumbell or is there some good tips floating around for using dumbells for swings?

Re: kettlebells

I don't have KB's (yet), so I do all my stuff with dumbells. The only one I can think of is to grip like a hammer grip. So that the handle is pointing straight away from you. As far as using two hands, put one over the other and then alternate sets with one hand on the handle and the other overlapping. Does that make sense?

Good info. Can anyone get onto the Lifeline USA to check out their kettlebells?

You mean like the picture on September 26, 2008 WOD?

I assume those guys are doing kettlebell swings with a dumbell. I was trying to find a video associated with that picture but couldn't find any.

Re: kettlebells

I'm not sure about the photo. But I am pretty sure that in the exercise demo video section there are some pretty good ones of dumbell swings.
