What are you reading?

I love to read, so I I thought I'd share what I'm reading, as well as get recommendations from others in the community.

Picked this one up after reading about it in another thread. The introduction has me very interested!

I've read DeLillo for a literature class. I'm enjoying this one so far.

I'm also reading an advance copy of The House at Riverton, which Barnes & Noble was kind enough to send me!

Re: What are you reading?

I am currently reading God is not Great by Christopher Hitchens. Being an atheist in a christian nation, I am often required to state my case against god. Hitchens' book has helped me fill in the holes in some of my arguments.

When reading for fun I enjoy anything by Kem Nunn or Chuck Palahnuik.

I am rereading The Essays of Warren Buffett: Lessons for Corporate America.

Here's a nice little quote from Warren that Crossfitters should be able to relate to "We feel noble intentions should be checked periodically against results."

Re: What are you reading?

I received a couple books for Christmas that I'm enjoying thus far.

Irish Thunder: The Hard Life & Times of Micky Ward by Bob Halloran
Boxer from my area, he trained at a local gym I was a member of leading up to his third fight with Arturo Gatti. He could frequently be seen running on the treadmill during the winter months...backwards.

Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and The Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10 by Marcus Luttrell with Patrick Robinson
Shouldn't need an explanation. Details the heroic story of Lt. Michael P. Murphy, better known in these parts as "Murph".

Reread of "The Showdown" by Ted Dekker. just as good the second time around. THATS when you KNOW you've got a good book!

Re: What are you reading?

I read that Hitchens when it came out. Good stuff. Along similar lines I am in the middle of "Breaking the Spell: Religion as a Natural Phenomenon" by Daniel Dennett. It is excellent. Also check out the recent, and not so recent stuff by Dawkins, and Sam Harris.

Also currently in the middle of "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly" by Jean Dominique Bauby. Absolutely beautiful book. Supposed to be a decent movie as well.

Also reading "The Divine Invasion" by Philip K D.I.C.K(the filter edited out his name. its his name, not a penis)
