Re: My experience on the Zone and Paleo Diet

Hello Michelle,
I am curious if you have experimenting with Intermittent fasting lately after taking up the Bullet Proof coffee? I have my BP coffee after I wake from 8 hrs of sleep however that does not break the fast due to only taking in fats. I have been following a 16hour fast followed by a feed for 8 hrs.

I have been Paleo for the the past year and a half and follow Zone to track my Macro's. I also have adjusted my fat intake higher then most when needed for more energy. I take in the bulk of my carbs(150grams) from fruit and sweet potatoes immediately following my workouts then the remaining 50 grams from greens during the rest of my feeding.

This might not work for everyone but does great for me. I have noticed a dropped body fat% while gaining lean mass at the same time. I have been training fasted this way for six months and feel great with plenty of energy from only adding extra fats when I required more energy.

Kerry,

I have my BulletProof coffee in the morning around 8 am, then workout around 10am. Afterwards, I have my first Zone Meal, with my last meal being around 7-8pm. Works great for me and my training schedule. Sounds like I'm pretty similar to you. I agree with adding extra healthy fats for additional sustained energy, definitely a difference in my performance at the Box!!

Thanks for sharing,

Michelle
