I have been doing a strict paleo zone that includes allot of whole omega 3 eggs and ground top round grass fed beef.
Here are the cholesterol numbers they are much better than before but…. hdl 69 ldl 154 total 235 Is this good or bad or what? Should I drop some egg yolks? |

I don't believe the traditional cholesterol test tells you much of anything about your health. If you knew what your HDL2B % and LDL particle size were you might have a better idea. As far as I know, Omega 3 egss are some of the healthiest foods you can eat.

thankyou for posting your cholesterol #'s. I wish more people would.
your ratio is 3.40, that seems high how much lean beef and eggs are you eating? compared to the amout of fruits and veggies, even though you are eating lean meat and eggs you may be eating way to much of them. Whole fruits and vegetables are extremely important. dr Cordains recommends high amounts of fruits and veggies and very low amounts of saturated fat. Around 12% of your total calories, thats not a lot. Here is a quote from him, "the saturated fat from the total edible carcass averages only 11.1 percent of its total available calories--meaning that hunter-gatherers simply did not have a high, year-round dietary source of saturated fat. To lower our blood cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart disease, the American Heart Association recommends that our dietary saturated fat intake should be 10% of our total daily calories--a value remarkably close to what hunter-gatherers could have obtained from eating wild animals on a year round basis! For this reason, we recommend that you always eat the leanest cuts of meat. |

I only eat fruit and vegetables with the exception of a bowl of oatmeal maybe once every couple of weeks, but other than that it is all fresh/frozen fruit and fresh vegetables. I eat 8-24 whole eggs every week and usually 8-16 oz ground grass-fed top round rest coming from chicken turkey…. So at 15 blocks how many can come from whole eggs and red meat? I am 38 175 lbs around 150 lbm and do a body weight wod every other day
Log here http://64.142.93.31/log.txt Curious to hear what other people are eating. I eat protien/carb at zone ratios It would be easy to modify my diet more but would prefer not to :-) I love eggs and beef. What were your triglycerides?
HDL:triglycerides is supposed to be an excellent indicator... |

Kevin, something to think about, but Cordain and Sears recommend keeping total intake of egg-yolks low, less than 6 per week.

Thanks Jesse that totally helps put things in perspective, I will try 1 a day and see what happens to my ldl. I just with I knew a good use for the yolks I hate wasting them but I bet they are great for compost and my dog will be happy as well.
