Talking Big Milestone- Deadlift 500lbs at BW 168lbs

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDMYju_Pg5g (wfs)

Worked up to a new max yesterday. The 500 really took everything I had. It's been a goal of mine to get anywhere near there, and I felt good and I had to give it a go. Still in a bit of disbelief it went up. Once I got it off the floor I was not going to give up on it.

Some rounding obviously, but it looks to me like its more thoracic than lumbar.

I know if I'm hitting triple BW then I'm doing something right, but feedback would still be appreciated.
Last summer I had real issues with the deadlift and was told until I correct some things I have no business going over 350.

Excellent work.

I kept waiting for you to faint like (wfs) Deadlift Fail Guy after your yell though.

Pretty amazing you pulled 500 after the 445F early on. Any idea what happened there? Jumped in weight too quickly I'm guessing?

I saw a little lumbar rounding, but some things are somewhat excusable when the lifter has a decent idea what he's doing. If one of my newbies tried to pull 200lbs with that form I would have shut them down, but I'd say your form was ok for a once in awhile kind of effort.

HAHAHA aaaaah man that deadlift passout video is just brutal. I've seen it so many times and it gets me every time. I did stumble into the wall a little

Going to 445 was a bit of a big jump, but I think I underestimated it a little bit. 405 went up so fast I was expecting to be able to pick it up a little easier. I've had that happen before too. Failed at 415 before hitting a PR of 435.
A little lumber rounding and lots of thoracic....its been a goal of mine to hit triple bodyweight and I was feeling good so I went for it. (well....504 technically yesterday, but I hover around 167-168) Once it was off the ground I wasn't going to give up on it, but it felt like forever getting that bar to lockout!
