Re: Tosh Does Grace

I think you missed one,...but I could be absolutely wrong... I haven't seen Grace rx'd as "anyhow" for a few yrs. Actually back when I was just a lurker.

Doesn't matter too much though...

I think I may see how a 95# one arm cln & J feels tonight.

Edit: I think Rutman actually proposed Grace be "anyhow"...

As Derek said mix it up, dont compare unless you do it side by side. All variations offer their own challenge and benefit. Try both see how you feel. I like the power versions just because there so fast and .... well powerful.

But who can dismiss the leg strength/endurance of someone who can squat clean 60kg for 30 reps, somewhat continously !

Matt, I wasn't calling you out, just thought it was a little funny, like my post says. Like if you were to refer to Annie or Eva as "some chick." Got nothing but love...

Ah. I thought because you threw the war hero thing out there you thought I should be showing more respect, when really I wasn't trying to be disrespectful at all. Misunderstanding. It's all good.

I presume they no longer prescribe it unambiguously because, as has been suggested here, they don't care; do it how you want. But it was historically anyhow (coming from the older school of WoDs where the work was the main thing), so that's how it tends to be preserved in places where people know about that.

You know, a separate WOD to do "30 TGU for time" would be interesting.

My thoughts exactly...my right shoulder is tweaked right now, but I was playing with some one arm snatch and cln & J (bar loaded @ 95#) I think that could be a fun little workout either single arm snatch/cln & J...or TGUs. 15 each side...

Re: Tosh Does Grace

You could always try the variation in the video a while back using a 135lb sandbag instead.

Re: Tosh Does Grace

I just watched the video. The back positioning is bad, and I'm sure that clean could be picked to death, but he does show a lot of strength. If I were him, I'd focus on technique more than metcon.
