Xfit Fob Summers

Hey all.

My name is MAJ Greg Jacobsen. I am currently in Iraq with 1-10 CAV. We had a really poor gym and equipment when we got here but my mechanics and S&R shop can weld their asses off. They built us this squat rack, the stand for my rings, and the pullup bars shown in the pics. They even created the cross and stand for our chapel that is next door to our gym. We started out with only a few members of our squadron involved in crossfit but our home made equipment has increased curiosity greatly and the number of soldiers giving crossfit a try is steadily increasing! Thanks for all you guys do to promote fitness in our soldiers and in our nation.

xfit for life

Hoohah, Sir. Thank you for your selfless service to your Nation. Oh, and I've got some serious DIY gym equipment envy.

Re: Xfit Fob Summers

looks great but do i see you putting on a pad to do squats

you need to burn that thing
to my understanding it offsets the postion the bar is supposed to be in , putting extra stress on your lower back

Maj
That's a great CF gym & I really like the chapel.
The cross is beautiful, nice work!
I can see you're "leading by example".
Way to go, Sir!

Richard--that is my PA getting ready to do squats

actually when doing back squats i prefer the pad becuase I get a rub spot on my back if I don't--can't understand how it would offset the position of the bar--even if it did you could adjust your CG accordingly --just like the article about doing low back squats vs high back squats. Could it be just a case of thinking doing it harder is better and if you need a pad you're a p**** kind of thing?

Re: Xfit Fob Summers

why can't I edit my own posts? Appreciate any help here. Rules say I can and I can at first but then later I can't--left out the s on my last name on the first one like a Jack***--can I say that? Which leads me to my next point---I'm not sure about the language clean-up editing thing like was done to my last post above. The video's you guys post have all kinds of language in them but we edit out words in people's posts? WTF? Seriously. I'm just saying.

Re: Xfit Fob Summers

I think you've got something like 15 min to edit a post. After that it's locked.
Nice fabrication work.
