Are Rogue bars scratch resistant?

Hi Guys,

when I got my rogue bar I actually added some extra padding on my squat rack to prevent scratching the knurling. If I were to take the extra padding off do you guys think it will scratch or damage the knurling. Especially with a hevy weight.

Thoughts?

Re: Are Rogue bars scratch resistant?

Yes, you will eventually wear down the knurling on the bar.

I put athletic tape on my rack. Some others have glued on strips of rubber or nylon.

Metal becomes more scratch resistant when it is made harder. The tradeoff is that harder steel is also more brittle. That is why swords, for example, are given a hard edge but the rest of the blade is made of softer steel.
