I'm going to subscribe to the CF journal, and I need some suggestions of previous issues that I should order. I'll get #8, which covers tests, and #17, on handstands, but what others do any of you find indespensible?

Steve,

Thanks for asking that question, I am also very interested in seeing what everyone would recommend.

Guys,

I'll review the journals and get back with a more complete answer. But I can say, just from memory and without hesitation, that the April 2004 CFJ, which has slideshow pictures that detail every single movement performed in any WOD you'll come across, as well as tips on technique for those movements, is a must-have.

I'd also recommend the September 2003 CFJ, which covers the benchmark workouts (more tests for you to gauge your fitness). I also love the July 2003 CFJ, which is devoted to the clean.

Hope this helps,

Mike

The CrossFit FAQ (http://mitymous.net/weights/xfitfaq.htm) has a table of contents for the CFJ, which might help you decide. I need to add May-July 04 to the index; thanks for the reminder!
