Why 135lbs / 95lbs
Hi all
Is there any reason for using this particular weight? Or is it simply because it is 2 x 45 / 25lb plates? Many Thanks |

Re: Why 135lbs / 95lbs
I read somewhere that women do 70% of men's weight. In this case that would be 94.5 lbs so they do 95.

It was coach glassman's way of finding a working weight for the masses
<--TOP 1.3. What if I can't use the recommended weight? Use a weight that's manageable to you, or use a percentage of the weight prescribed. Assume the "generic" male crossfitter weighs 175 and the prescribed weight is 95 lbs. Thus, you'd pick a weight that's approximately 55% of your bodyweight. |

It's just easy.
You want to try to get 15 athletes going at once with 117.5 lbs on each barbell? Because I don't. |

My guess is because in the world before readily available bumper Plate 45's were the most readily available. They were also the "big" plates.
