Blood test results

Hi there,

I just got my blood work back and am a little concerned with some of the numbers. I was hoping someone could shine a little light on what they mean.

Background, I've been eating 'mostly' paleo for a month now, and before that I would eat very healthy all natural foods at home, but would go out to eat quite a bit as well.

Total Cholesterol: 196
LDL: 140
Chol to HDL Ratio: 4.6
HDL: 43
Triglycerides: 65
Glucose/Blood sugar: 91

These results are from one of those onsite tests where they use a machine and get results in 5 minutes or so. I was fasted for about 10 hours when the test was taken.

I don't like the HDL number at all, thought that would be higher. The LDL kind of scares me too, but I have not gotten a vLDL test (yet) so that may not be too bad...

Re: Blood test results

I'm planning on speaking my physician at my physical in a couple of weeks. I was hoping that some other people with experience might be able to chime in and let me know what I need to be asking him about.
