Hi there,
I've just done my first few WODs, adapted but I figure that's okay to start with. I'm pretty slim (6ft 160lbs) but am quite impressed with the definition gained even after such a short period. I just love the intensity - my HR goes through the roof and it feels great! One question. I get lower back pain when doing proper pull ups (alwyas have done - am stuck with problem) so adapt by using rings, putting feet up on support (so body is horizontal) and do pull ups that way. They are alomost more like rows. I hope that does the trick and doesn't hinder my progress too much. Just one of those things one needs to work around I guess!? Thanks, Simon |

Welcome, Simon!
Not sure why you get lower back pain while doing proper pull-ups. Without seeing you do a pull-up, it's hard to tell. But, there may be something in your form you can change (maybe you're straightening out your back instead of letting it arch naturally). I would post this on the "Injuries & Medical" section instead of this "newbie" section. There are some Docs & Chiropractors that CrossFit and they will be able to give you some good advice. Happy CrossFitting! |
