Dave Murray's log

Hello all,

Now I've done it. I've broken down and gotten me an online log. I've been drinking the CF Kool-Aid since March, training at the Center City affiliate in Philadelphia, PA. Having no prior history of intense athletic training I have enjoyed the challenges (and rewards) of Crossfit. Working at CFCC has been an inspiring and humbling experience. I look forward to sharing my work with you all and learning from the great info on this board!

Here goes:

8/19/09

Heavy Presses (Strict)

95x1
105x1
115x1 (10-lb PR)
120F
120F
95x6 (going for reps)
95x5

Did not do the mainsite push press due to a twisted ankle, happened leaving after "Ryan." Walked into a pothole where I wasn't looking. HELLO!!! Didn't think much of it until it started hurting later that evening. Two days out and feeling better and hoping for more improvement tomorrow. I've been easy on it after today's WOD.

CCFC Weighted Pullups

*Pullup numbers are deadhangs, with the exception of the last round*

I was happy with these numbers, considering it was only recently that I could do ONE pullup, let alone stringing them together.
Worked for the first time with weights during pullups. It was an interesting exercise and I was happy with this for my first time.

This is 87% of my max single, 115lb on 8/19. Form felt good today and was able to grind out some more presses than I would have thought.

Mainsite/CFCC - "Cindy" or "Mary"
*CFCC WODs are one day behind the Mainsite page*

"Cindy"

13 Rounds + 4 Pullups

- 2 Round + 4 Pull PR
- Kipping felt strong and more controlled today, not as floppy as in the past. Will try to keep this in mind for future WODs
