AWESOME!!! Great job to Kelly, that is some endurance and the training pre-tournament helped out a lot. Did the technique of hand rotation help for locking out the arm at top without expending too much energy?

Master of Sports!! CI!!!

Thanks....Catherine turned in an amazing performance (as usual!). I'm betting she will achieve the Master of Sport World Class ranking come November in Miami. (That's my goal for Miami too....I'm aiming for 188 reps). I finally had the opportunity to watch Jen Morey compete and achieve MS ranking this weekend (she's another amazing athlete). It was startling to see how the differences in body types affected how these two athletes did both the snatch and jerk (the American Kettlebell Club is going to include a one arm jerk competition for women for ranking). If the competition video is on the internet, I'll post a link.

The men had some amazing performances too. Marty Farrell competed with the 32k bells at around 154#...nothing like jerking nearly bodyweight overhead without putting the bells down for 10 minutes. His snatch performance was also amazing...snatching nearly half bodyweight overhead with only one hand switch for nearly 10 minutes is quite a feat. Dan John showed true grit with an inspiring snatch performance and Andrew Durniat was the first U.S. man to go the full 10 minutes with the 32k bell for 124 snatches. Here's the rough draft of the competition results (needs some corrections) from the competition: http://cmuberti.googlepages.com/2007-0505nationals.

Here's a link to the rankings for anyone interested: (all links are work/family safe): www.worldkettlebellclub.com/ranks.htm.

Here is a video link to Catherine's first "official" MS performance (she had already accomplished this in competition): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stORjc5XSdk.

Here are video links to Marty's near MS performances:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leKayOU8tik

Huge Kudos to both of you! Just shows how when you combine smart training, hard work and personal "grit", you are bound to get great results!

You are an inspiration to the KB and CF Nations!
