torn hands
I hadn't done toes to bar in awhile until yesterday. I didn't know it until the last round that I had torn the callouses on my hands. I finished the workout and then cleaned it up. I had seen an advertisement on facebook a couple of months ago about gymnastic hand grips but couldn't find that product. I had never had severe issues with my hands until yesterday. I'm working out at home now but many people in my previous box were using the rogue wraps. I was wondering whether there was something better out there now?
Thanks, Peter |

Re: torn hands
I make two of these: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWxdAEsRsW8 WFS
Then tape them together to resemble a "The Natural Grip" style (pic attached, WFS) then tape them to my wrists. Best method I've found. Gymantics grips are too thick for my liking. You can buy athletic tape fairly cheap and after a few attempts these are really easy to make. |

Re: torn hands
I like both the leather grips and the Jaw grips. I just got the new Jaw grips that go over all 4 fingers and provide coverage over the entire Palm. I workout on the gulf coast in Texas and I sweat like a pig in the soup we call air. I am hoping the new 4 finger jaw grips will help to hang onto the bar. Without some sort of grip, I would be toast for about 8 months out of the year. As you can imagine, we go through chalk faster than we can buy it at my gym (sorry, but I can't bring myself to call the place I workout at a box).

Re: torn hands
Between the callus shaver I use, emery board and the pumice stone I keep in the shower, I literally never rip my calluses.
But, I have an issue with tearing my palms occasionally on high volume CTB days, even when wearing the grips I make. Anyone have any recommendations for stopping that from happening? |
