Re: 2014 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

Not that I worship at the Church of Froning, but I'm a fan of his capabilities. It's been interesting this year to see how many people were against him, and how many threw dirt on him after his nearly embarrassing performance 3mi run of the Triple 3. His rankings in each event this year haven't been so different than his distribution from years past. Sure, his tie for 1st place in the second event was a bit atypical since he usually does all of his winning on the last day, but considering that the 2nd event was right up his alley, it sure made sense that he'd grab the 'easy' points for himself while the getting was good.

I guess I just always take notice whenever people are so eager to see Casey strike out.

Idk what everyone is talking about but watching the replay it looks like she was below parrallel on the last 3 in clear contrast to the first 2.

Cause she didn't.
First rep was clearly shallow. I (barely) gave her the second, but I cringed at the next two that were given to her.

For some fun 'looking forward' talk.

Jordan vs. Lebron talk. Moving forward with the sport and the games 10yrs, will Rich still be considered the greatest?

As for Camille, to me that is like calling the foul during the last play of the NBA finals. You just have to let some things slide. It wasn't like 90% above parallel and 10% that she was below. Even if it was more like 55/45 in favor of NOT hitting depth, you have to let that one go at that point.

Excellent performance by Froning today. And Frazier gave him a hell of a fight ending up second overall. Too bad Josh Bridges couldn't hang on to a podium finish but you can't find a better, more classy representative of Crossfit in Jason Khalipa.

Time to go in the garage and see what this Double Grace is all about...

Disagree completely. As judge, you make the correct call - always. The movement standards do not change depending on the situation.

That comparison tends to stir up things because they were part of a team. In this case it's a singular person that was continuously at the very top of the mountain for 4 years straight, 5 if you include his 2nd place year.

I believe I correctly called the Sunday finish a number of pages back.

Rich stepped on the gas big time. The sliding down the rope made it for him. Very smart.

Khaipa stayed with him right through the 60 reps. Which was also impressive. Fraser just flat out ran out of gas.

Wrong. She definitely got lower after she was no rep'd. The last ones were legit. She deserved the win big time. Great interview after. Every day was game day for the last year. Try that on for size.
