Could anyone shed some advice on how to increase my ability to do pullups(hands facing away). When i'm tired I can still pull off 8 chin-ups but barely even 1 pullup.
Ideas ? |

The answer is simple:
Just pullup some more. I used to be able to chin alot more than pull, but then I began pulling more so today I'm probably only good for a single chin more than a pull. |

How far apart are your hands in relation to your shoulders?

Should they be wider ? they might not be wide enough if that helps.

The wider grip tends to be more challenging (tricep not lat intensive). Most people like approx shoulder width. I actually tend to go for a narrower grip, but I have freakishly broad shoulders. I am the only person I know of whose shoulders are so broad he broke a collarbone at birth.

You may try mixed grip (one overhand, one underhand) ala deadlift. I tend to do this, breaking up the sets to change grips even if I can complete the full set. That, and more pull-ups.

Interesting idea. Gonna try to just bang out pullups throughout the day for the next couple weeks and see what happens.
