The pull-up bar at my gym has that metal grip coating you see on olympic bars. The problem with this is that when doing kipping pull-ups it rips the crap out of my hands and greatly reduces my grip, even with chalk. I'm not afraid of blisters, calluses, cuts and other battle wounds from the WOD, in fact I welcome them but when I consistently lose my grip because of it, somethings gotta change. Anyone else experience this problem and over come it sans gym bunny gloves?

Why not tape the bar...the other person a the gym using the pullup bar will probably appreciate it.
