Im in as well guys!

Taken a well deserved week off this week, but today I tried for a max set and got 29...4 better than my last attempt

Im 33 in November but I'll go for the 50 as well

I talked it over with the elbow and we're out. Sorry, but until this thing sorts itself out, my max pull ups will remain 7 and anything above that is done in singles.
Good luck all; I'll be waving in support with my left hand (and all fingers!).

For once, it looks like being a little guy (5'6", 135#) is an advantage rather than a disadvantage.

Did max pullups for the first set of Barbara (not, perhaps, a wise move for overall time on the workout, but I digress) and banged out 36.

As I turn 26 in precisely a month (7/16), I'll be trying to go for 52 pull-ups (age x 2) as a birthday gift.

Great idea for a challenge Eugene!

and by the way... does anyone have an opinion as to just which size bar diameter is most comfortable??? Too small and it seems to cramp your fingers ,too large & it fries your forearmsRight now Im using a Grorperz finger board & can do about 35...but there in no way Ill be able to crank out another 15 on that Ive got to set up a bar somewhere.

My bars are all 1" plumbing pipe and the grip is perfect for my fairly small hands. Probably hard to kip properly on the fingerboard. I think you'll get several more reps just using a bar with some space underneath to swing your legs.

Absolutely, Karl. 25 by the end of the month, I'm in.

When I hit that, I'll review my target for November... :uhoh: I just put my old pullup bar back up, just outside the back door. I used to have to go down to shed to do pullups, but I figure I'm going to have to have a more convenient spot.

I can't tell you how important it is to have full extension when you hang (feet don't touch the ground and you don't have to bend your knees). Work on kipping technique by working the swing and stringing two pull ups together, work the transition from the top part of the pull up to full extension, proper technique and transition will give you at least 5 additional pull ups (really).

Yeah I understand what Larry is saying. Last night I was doing Barbara and I didn't put my rings high enough. I had to keep my knees bent the entire time.

Not only was my max pullup reduced from 24 to 16, I started to get a cramp in the back of my right leg from holding it up while changing directions quickly at the bottom of the pull up. I am sure that this was partially due to a serious kicking workout the night before, but it still affected my performance.

that being said. . .

Are you guys NUTS!? 50 pull ups!? I would be happy if I got 40 with my 6'4" 200lb (or so) frame.

Wait a second - did I just sign up for a pull up challenge? Uh-oh, here we go again. . .
