Re: Update: CrossFit Games 2008 July 5-6

I just remembered something from last year. If you do a map search for 275 Dunbarton you will get the wrong results. It shows up on the wrong side of the highway! I know I got lost last year, and I think some others who didnt catch the small signs did as well.

Regardless, in an attempt to help others who havent been there find their way I created a Google map with the correct location pinpointed.

Behold, in all of its WFS glory....

Re: Update: CrossFit Games 2008 July 5-6

Mike,

I wrote the article in the journal last year after the Games. This year I am going to meet up with Darrell "Bingo" White and Paul "Apolloswabbie" Eich. We have never met in person before. We have already reserved a hotel room together. Darrell can't compete because of an injured shoulder. I am going to try to record as much of the experience as I can for posterity.

I can't wait to meet those two guys, hang out, get crushed by AFT and OPT and Speal, and have a blast doing it. It will be nice to see Coach again in person and give him and the Missus a hug. If I play my cards right, I am also hoping to steal a hug from one of the judges. And Freddy Camacho, too (but don't tell him I said that.)

Mike,

I am working on getting the days off to compete. That weekend is a ***** to get off in the LE world.

As for the other questions, no I didn't make it out last year - again unable to get the days. I would like to go this year to use it as a long overdue competitive outlet and prep for some other multi event competition I am looking at in the late summer.

As for numbers, some are listed below. Hopefully, I'll get the days off and get down to my old stomping grounds and see you all there.

Take care and stay fit!

I just went to go register but it's sold out. Does anyone know if they're going to open up more spots for competitors? I already have my flight and hotel booked.

Re: Update: CrossFit Games 2008 July 5-6

I just went online today to register myself as a competitor for the games and was pretty upset to find out that they are sold out?

I am a little frantic about my situation right now because I have been training for this for some time now and have already purchased two non-refundable plane tix for me and my girlfreind.

IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE THAT IS OR KNOWS OF ANYONE THAT IS REGISTERED, BUT NOT ABLE TO COMPETE???

I'm pretty upset about not seeing this thread before. I am a new affiliate and have been pretty busy with training and what not, but I'm in a pretty desperate situation. Any help is appreciated.

Pat B.

Re: Update: CrossFit Games 2008 July 5-6

By the way, in case anyone is still looking for a hotel room I just stumbled across a great wfs site.
www.sidestep.com

Through one website they search all of the other travel websites! I alsmost booked my hotel through expedia @ 74 / night but ran across sidestep and it found the same hotel for 43 per night at orbitz!

Anyways, good luck.

hey ian
if the cross fit games are booked solid, why dont you enter a big crit out there in california. you probably could still blow away 99% of the racers out there..... and in the USA..
