Crossfit Games Last Chance Qualifier Discussion

A thread to talk about the Last Chance Qualifiers that are taking place today.

For those who don't know about this, or want to know more, here is the link

http://games2009.crossfit.com/thegam...qualifier.html (wfs)

I just did workout 1 in 21:06. I did the double unders quickly, it was just the deadlifts that killed me! I ended up doing singles separated by 5-10 seconds and longer as the workout went on.

I'm not videoing mine seeing as I'm just doing them in my bedroom/garden, and I know I won't qualify anyway!

Re: Crossfit Games Last Chance Qualifier Discussion

I wasn't planning on competing this year but now I definitely won't since I did that PC155#/PU/KB54# workout the other day and it was definitely one of the hardest workouts I've ever done. Linda doesn't even come close to the difficulty of that one. Maybe if the PC's were lighter I would have had a chance. But with 155# PC's I'm just not strong enough for a sub-12 minute time.

Good luck to everyone who competes.

Re: Crossfit Games Last Chance Qualifier Discussion

just did wod 3 pc/ctb pull-ups/swings. time was 16:00, so i'm not even going to do the other two. for the first time ever, that workout brought on immediate flu symptoms. my nose is running and i have been sneezing since finishing about 2 hours ago. wow, i can't believe that there were guys that completed that in sub 11 minutes on day 2 of the qualifier! unreal.

I am not trying to qualify, but I did the PC,PU,KB WOD today. I made the swings heavier though (it is something I want to work on...)

10 to 1 reps of
Power clean (105#)
C2B pull-ups
KB swings (Rx is 1 pood, I used 1.5)

Total: 21:51

Not a stellar time as all the qualifying women were under 14:30, but I am ok with it!! :-)

Not as bad a time as you think. Yes, all of the qualifying women completed it under the 15 minute cap but the vast majority did not come close to finishing. Some of the beasts from the men's final DNF'd and a couple finished in just under 15. I did not come anywhere close to qualifying but I am very, very proud for having completed that WOD.

Really (women DNF that is), I just figured there was a 15 minute cut off... nice to know.

Re: Crossfit Games Last Chance Qualifier Discussion

Not much discussion taking place about the LCQ. I did submit videos.

Workout 3 took me 14:18 if I remember right. I didn't bother checking the Regional qualifiers to see how that stacked up. It certainly hurt my ego and body though.

LCQ 1 was slow due to double unders at 4:50. I expected to go low 3s, but I couldn't feel the rope on the second set of double unders (or my arms)

LCQ 2 "Jackie". Horrible poerformance on my part. Over a minute slower than I was expected to go (8:16).

That was great that crossfit HQ allowed us another opportunity to qualify. I finished 11th in my region, and seeing the likes of Matt Chan and Rick Frausto go full speed was an eye opener.

I haven't seen the list of people that made it from the LCQ, but anyone qualifying for the games this year has accomplished something significant in my opinion. Whether through their region ofr through the LCQ, the workouts demanded of us, were tough.

Can't access it at work...time to call a freind

Not really anticipating seeing my name, but would be a nice surprise

Apparently my freind and I are both not smart enough to find the list of people making it through the LCQ. Could someone please provie a link or even better, the list?

I would really appreciate it.
