Starting For newcomers to the CrossFit methodology

Great to have the board back...

I'm a day behind on the WOD and am doing the Max Clean/Max Dips workout tonight.

Is there a difference between a clean and a power clean? If so, what is that difference (or are the differences)?

In OL circles a clean implys a squat clean. A power clean is accomplished with little or no knee bend on the catch. For the WOD powercleans are prefered most of the time however this is calling for max poundage so a squat may be where the move ends up. One does not want to squat clean just for the sake of doing it...the squat is actually a pull-under at enormous speed while the bar is still on part of its upward trajectory. Throw these terms into Google...there are a number of good videos on the net.
