Starting For newcomers to the CrossFit methodology

I'm new to crossfit, been at it about 3 weeks. It really does work! This blows away the EOD stuff i did in the Navy! But crossfit killed my ipod. I used to work out for nearly 2 hrs, and that meant making long, killer playlists, but now I only work 20 to 30 minutes, with 10 minute warm up and cool down! My 500 song nano is feeling way neglected!!

Welcome aboard Justin. Think of all the time you have to do some additional technique work with the O-lifts and kettlebells for example. You can now stretch those 500 songs out over weeks of workouts and not hear the same stuff over and over again. Quality young man, quality workouts are what will do it for you. The mindless drone of the same workout format day after day, week after week is what sends people back to the couch and the remote. Keep us all posted on your progress and success and keep on this board. Lots of great info here.

welcome to CF Justin. I know what you mean about the time. I can get a high quality calorie burning workout with the feeling of nausea while on the verge of passing out from pushing that envelope in under 30 minutes a lot better than what I use to get in 1 or 2 hours.
