Hey everyone just thought I would introduce myself. I mainly do Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and i found this site through some other forums. I'm going to start by doing the WOD and go from there, eventually I will start to gather some equipment. See everyone later.

Welcome aboard! You're definitely in the right place. Be sure to check out the FAQs on the "getting started" page, they'll answer many questions before you know to ask them. Good luck!

Hey, i'm new here, just wondering if the WOD is the "only" exercise that you do for a crossfit program. i am trying to find out if you guys do additional strength training, cardio, etc. The WOD looks pretty hard, just curious.

Adam, most people add whatever extra exercise they feel they need for their particular sport/recreational activity. However, if you're just starting out, I'd stick with the WOD alone for now, and see how you handle that. Don't add anything until you're dealing with the 3/1 on/off schedule solidly.

Personally, I add running and various calisthenics, since that's what I'll be tested on as a member of the military. Some people do extra heavy weight lifts, swimming, whatever. As long as you can space the workouts out well enough, and are getting proper nutrition and sleep, you'll be fine.

By the way, do you happen to have a brother by the name of Matt?

Adam,

You will soon find that the WOD -- if executed at full intensity -- is enough.
