![]() I tried the paleo diet but only lasted about three weeks. It was more expensive than I thought and I was starving throughout the day, hardly an hour after eating.
My biggest problems was just not getting enough calories and the money. That being said can anyone show me or tell me some calorie dense paleo meals? I don't count calories but I'm only 170 so I don't need that much |

Are you talking about strict paleo or do you want to include (can include) diary products?

It can be expensive depending on what you eat but it can also be cheap and lots of calories.
Plan ahead. It requires eating more real food vs processed junk. By the time you eat 3 chicken breasts (or I like dark meat) a huge sweet potatoe, an avacado and some other stuff for a meal you will full ready to pop. |

If you have a Costco or Sams Club near you, join.
I buy 8lbs of chicken every week from there for ~$25.00 and they have tons of other meats. |

I'm mildly lactose intolerant so I try to stay away from dairy paleo or not. I'm actually in NYC so things here are a little more expensive. I just remember I was spending a lot of money trying paleo and still starving throughout the day

Adding more fat will likely be the easiest way as mentioned above. One of my favorites is coleslaw. I make this mayo http://whole30.com/2014/05/mayo/ (WFS), put a head of purple cabbage in the food processor, add salt, pepper, cilantro, a little apple cider vinegar, and some lime juice. Depending on the size of the cabbage this yields ~6 cups @ ~430 cals/cup. I either eat it as a side, or put a cup on top of spinach and mix in my favorite meat for a pretty good salad.
