Re: November: Thruster Challenge

9 @ 30kg unbroken for a quick warmup. Felt a little rougher than it should but the 21 at this weight will go up easy enough. Left me good for some 160kg deadlifts but called it there because I've only just got over a couple of silly little injuries and want to ease back in.

This challenge coincides we my moustache growing challenge (but I suspect I'll bottle that one in a couple of weeks). Will have to see if my moustache makes these thrusters easier.

Joshua: What are your weights going to be for the whole challenge? If you're starting at 95# it seems to imply some big numbers at the end or are you just skipping the early lower weights?

Re: November: Thruster Challenge

Got my 15 @ 65 in today as part of my metcon.

Set was broken after 10 reps (did this after a heavy day of power cleans).

My weights are going to progress as such.

95 115 135 155

I know they are high numbers and unbroken sets will be minimal but I am really trying to push myself on challenges such as these where you can see fast progressions.

Today 0630 15@95 unbroken

By the third week he was thrustering (sp?) more than I weigh, think I need to put some muscle on. I realised why my first set felt tougher than I expected, I was using 40kg instead of 30kg (I even kept the 10kg plates on the bar and didn't work it out while I was doing my deadlifts).

Nice Joshua, feel like I should up my weights a bit to push myself too but I'm a little self concious about training heavy at the moment so I'm going to stick with the recommended weights. Here's hoping that next November I can take a pop at those numbers Kirez Reynolds put up though

Re: November: Thruster Challenge

I will be thrusting almost body weight the last week if I am feeling frisky I may just make the 10 lbs leap and make it body weight.

Same situation, been thinking about doing that as well. Albeit I haven't decided yet.

Re: November: Thruster Challenge

thrusters - 15reps @ #65

unbroken

the reason i start the challenge at #65 is to focus on form for the first week. then the #95 is the rx fran weight and the final two weeks are to see what your capable of.
