I would like to add that the second Tuesday morning of every month at Planet Fitless is Bagel day.

Also, the pizza they buy at mine is pretty good.

My gut feeling is part of the issue was the staff trainer was also working that night and raised a stink with the manager, Not 100% sure of this but watching what was going on this was as I said my gut feeling.

Okay fine, we are doing an exercise together and since it is going for max sets none of us are even doing the same exercise at the same time, nor is anyone instructing another person. We were encouraging but other than not not much else going on. What PF said was the issue is that one of us (one person there is level 1 cert) had come up with an exercise routine so therefore he was leading us. The only one that is allowed to lead or instruct is the PF staff trainer. I then posed the manager on duty (Sarah) a question: "What if 3 people came in, 2 ask what should we do tonight and the third said I know, lets do 3 sets of bench presses and 3 sets of squats, would this be against club policy". To give her credit she answered that yes it would be against club policy.

At no time were we trying to recruit other people in joining us in our WOD, and we are club paying members. I guess PF doesn't want us as member. Hopefully we'll get something setup where we can workout and can drop the PF memberships.
I havent gone through all the pages of this thread, just an FYI. Did a search for "Maine" and stumbled on this thread...

I use that same planet fitness in lewiston, usually go there when it first opens on weekdays: 5AM. Sometimes you can find me there around 10AM on Fridays since my schedule allows. So usually its pretty dead when I am there - the way i like it.

Ive never has issues with the management or employees there, though i workout alone. I move equipment around and take up a few spots at some points and they still never mention anything. The only time they talk to me is to ask what I am training for!

Wayne, do you still workout there???

I can't think of an excersize I do that wouldn't set that thing off.

Well, maybe not metcons. I make more of a "dieing baby seal" whimper sort of noise.

Re: Did a no-no at Planet Fitness

This is amazing, I had not heard of PF before this thread now my new obsession is finding one just to go there and set off the lunk alarm. Too bad the nearest one is 40 miles away. I need to see if I can find one on vacation and try and get some trial pass or something. Not even LA Fitness or 24hr Fitness act like that. I like 24hr Fitness so far the best, the manager here actually heard of Crossfit and was totally supportive of me doing the WODs there.

One more thing, GRUNT ON!

On our once-a-month Pizza Night, we give away 350,000 slices. That's more than 4 million slices of pizza a year.

We hand out more than a million Tootsie Rolls every month.

What the hell?
