that is a great idea for everyone. its definitely beneficial to post your progress for everyone to see. even if you think know one cares we can all learn from each others experience.

so i would post like this (example): today #115 for 15 reps (9/6) *i broke this set up into 9 reps and then 6 reps

Re: July: 'thruster' challenge

We were planning a slightly different thruster challenge for July.
We're going for max reps at 95 Lbs. Once you start you can't put the bar down .You can rest in the rack or overhead but put it down ,you're done.
I got this from Dutch's blog a while back.

Re: July: 'thruster' challenge

Hey everybody! I'm in!

I would love to do the 95# max July challenge, but I am not quite at that level yet (not sure if I can do 95# thrusters yet). So I am going ahead with the 9/15/21 challenge starting at 45# (which I know I can do )

Thanks for starting this challenge! I'm looking forward to seeing how long I can go with this! thanks!! I'll try to post my progress here too so you all can yell at me if I'm not keeping up.

welcome aboard nichole!

just to make sure you are clear on this: #45 for 9 reps on the 1st day (for example:monday), #45 for 15 reps on the 2nd day (wednesday), #45 for 21 reps on the third day (friday).

the following week you might want to progress by #5. so #50 for week two, #55 for week 3, and #55 for week 4? i think it is important you try to raise the weight every week. even if its only a little.

good luck

Re: July: 'thruster' challenge

Day 1 - 9 reps @ 65lbs

Started with a lighter weight to focus on the explosion. Plus I did heavy squats.

hey sorry didn't mean to give the wrong impression... i'm starting at 45 but definitely increasing the weight. i just thought the max reps challenge was cool, but as i'm not up to that weight yet i thought it would be more beneficial to do the original plan starting at 45#

Re: July: 'thruster' challenge

I hate heavy thrusters. Which means I need to do this challenge. Which means I WILL do this challenge. Starting today after work.
