Re: June - Burpup challenge

yesterday i incorporated the daily burpups in a short metcon i programmed. since the total yesterday was 10 i did one rep as a warm up then three rounds of (3 burpups, 6 kb swings, 9 push presses). my time was 2:49. it a good way to keep the challenge fresh.

today +12 burpups - 42 total

Re: June - Burpup challenge

yesterday i did the 12 burpups in a 12 x 12 wod with 12 different exercises for 12 reps. today i feel a bit taxed so i mixed some tai chi with slow executions of the burpup. it was more of a dynamic stretch then a metcon.

today +14 burpups - 56 total

nice! did you do them for time?

i was thinking a G.I. Jane challenge would be cool too. maybe +3 a day for 33 days? maybe we could save that for august?

I didn't time it...I thought about and then decided I'd rather just get through them, I had just completed my WOD for the day and saw this challenge as I was posting to my workout log, and decided to go for it. I think I didn't want to put that intensity into it, because it was all I could do to get myself to just do it anyway.

One question though, these can be done throughout the day correct? Or do we have to do each days burpups in one session?

Hmm...a G.I. Jane challenge would be something...what about the other burpee variations though...the burpee broad jump or burpee tuck jump, or even the reverse burpee?

I'd vote for burpee broad jumps (Beck's Burpees I think some call them), as an August challenge. BRUTAL.

Re: June - Burpup challenge

Wow! -- just found this. Count me in!

I did GI Jane for the first time last week (only to 60), and was stoked. Really liked it.

Will do 16 when I get home. Many thanks!!

you can do them throughout the day. as long as the overall total matches up we are all good.

actually i like your idea more then just adding extra reps. i personally like the medicine ball burpees.

welcome aboard Tom! 16 would be good for today's total, but to truly buy into the challenge you would have to do 56 for all the previous days plus 16 for today's total.

you don't have to catch up if you don't want, but typically people have to 'buy in' when they join late. you could spread out those 'buy in' burpups throughout a few days workouts. you could just add an extra 14 burups to the daily total over the next four days if that helps. so.... today 16+14, then 18+14, then 20+14, then 22+14, then just 24, 26, so on.... or you could just G.I. Jane it like Aushion did.

today +16 burpups - 72 total
