Re: Valhalla 2009

I'm in totally now. Hell with it. We should get this thread going with how people are going to get ready, whether it be 2 wods a day, or just kicking everything into overdrive. What do you think?

Re: Valhalla 2009

I'm up for however, and whenever. I will start doing a Hero WOD one day, and an long interval metcon the next. I'm going to up my protein as well during this time. The long interval metcon is something like 3 rounds of filthy fifty with a short break between each.

Re: Valhalla 2009

no dates yet, possibly 3 weeks from now. i have 10 days of "free" time in our schedule and want to make a real run at this. If you want to break this down by a few days that would be fine, i'm getting at getting people to do this, not how they get it done, but personally, i want to do this in a day, or two...Preperation? hahahaaa.....i PR'd Murph last weekend (20lb Body Armor) ~34min.

Re: Valhalla 2009

Great idea, great tribute, and without a doubt, a great challenge. Interested, but in my current level of conditioning, I would be far behind you guys in completion time. Might give this a go though sometime soon if a few buddies will take it on with me.

Fairly confident that my intensity would drop to an all time low halfway through the list, as its just about SURVIVAL after that, lol (at least it will be for me). It's like an Ironman, applied to CrossFit. Will stay tuned to this thread to see how you all do. Good luck!

Re: Valhalla 2009

harry,
do it to your capability. some might charge through this in a day or two, others a week. completion is a goal, not blowing records out the water. good luck.

Re: Valhalla 2009

Well, I gave it a go. I meant to do it tomorrow with a full free day, but I got caught by the Random Bone Generator on the watchbill, so despite having school and watch to stand today, today was the better time. I managed to finish off 10 Heroes before having to call it due to scheduling issues (it's O Dark 30 my time... literally). I'll try to finish the other five tomorrow, but regardless, this was my score for the day. Today's schedule was:

0425: Mr. Joshua - 26:51 . Decline Bench Situps (pretty close to GHD's, but not quite) and 245# DL
0505: Josh - 16:43 . Bars did not permit kipping really well, (too close to the wall), and I lost time running from the first to the second floor, but I'm just bad at OHS', so I'm not surprised my time was slow.
0730: Ryan - 16:23 . Bar MUs, As RX'ed
0800: Erin - 22:23. As RX'ed
1340: Randy - 15:05. As RX'ed
1440: Tommy V - ... - Leg started bleeding on the rope, subbed 3 'rope-crawls' per ascent. Someone stole my weight halfway through and I hit the stop button mid-workout. Estimate 40 including the interruption. Thrusters as RX'ed.
1520: Jason - 30:20 - As RX'ed. Bar MUs. Was blazing through this one until the skin on my palm ripped off in the last set of MUs. Switched up the grip a little and took them one at a time.
1920: JT - 17:35 - ~ As RX'ed. Strict. Headstand Pushups.
1950: Griff - 12:49 - As RX'ed. On track.
2010: Michael - 19:10 - As RX'ed. On treadmill (tried to use the bleachers on the track to hold the feet in, but they're at the perfect length to crush things).

Anybody else picked a day or a couple for this?

Re: Valhalla 2009

I know this is an old thread, but would like to check this out beforehand. Are we supposed to do the workouts in the order in which they were posted? I have the SEAL Fitness Challenge June 20th so I'll be focusing on PST scores until then. However, there's a possibility that I'd do this before the event. If not, I'll do it shortly thereafter. Anyone up for say...the weekend of June 26th? I'll have to look at the list more closely, but I'm guessing I'd need 2-3 days to complete the list posted in the thread. Thanks.
