Re: new years challenge

Day 5 - pull ups/ burpups +10 = 30 total

stephen, i think i made this over complicated. it's really simple: everyday you do an additional 2 reps. so yesterday was 8 reps, today will be 10 reps, tomorrow will be 12 reps, and so on... until day 30 which equals 60 reps.

Ted,

I did the 30 today to "buy" in. Confirming we only do 12 tomorrow if we're caught up? I guess I
Am lacking in the higher CF math skills...

Re: new years challenge

hang in there Stephen
if your caught up then just take the day of the month (today is the 5th) & x2
so 5x2=10. do 10 today & 6x2=12 tomorrow

I'm still good, 2,4,6,8,10 DONE.

Thank for the explanation, John. At my age, I have to wonder what, if any, gray matter still resides within my skull. With my computations, I'd have done something stupid, like adding them exponentially or whatever, so by the 31st, I'd have to do 4,322 burpups........Yikes!

stephen, if you can do exponential addition then your math has far surpassed mine.

i didn't time my burpups today since i used them as a warm up for my bike ride. i'll try to time them tomorrow.

day 6 - burpup +12 (42 total)

Re: new years challenge

Did my 12 today (Day 6 X 2). Being my crazy, competitive self, I thought I'd time them too. 1:42.

Ted, are we supposed to start with 30 as a base number and add the days? You have 42 listed for our count today. Sorry - - my brain's impermiability still persists......

Thanks!

i am just keeping a running total from all the days combined. so the 1st day + the 2nd day + the 3rd day & so on.... 2+4+6+8+10+12=42. by the end of 30 days the total is like 930 or something. i have done the 30 day burpup challenge a few months ago and it is brutal in a good way.

thats a nice time of 1:42 stephen! that's like 1 every 8 or 9 seconds. see if you can maintain that pace. i did my final 60 burpups on the last challenge in under 10 minutes. maybe i can go sub 9 minutes this time?

Ted,

Thanks again for (another) explanation. Third time's a charm. I finally understand!! Running total......DUH! Thanks for the props on the time. If I could do all the pull-ups dead hang, I'd blast through it, but I have to kinda "kip" my way up. I am happy with the time, since I haven't done burpees for years (and the ones I did were four-count, with no push-ups).

Take care and thanks again!

Whole fish, stuffed w/ tomato, lemon, onion, butter, salt & pepper wrapped in tin foil & on the BBQ for 45 min.:stir:
