new years challenge

this 30 day challenge is based off the new years challenge poll in which pull ups where voted as the new years challenge. the burpups came in a close second so i decided this would be a dual challenge in which an individual could chose to do the pull up challenge, the burpup challenge, or a hybrid of both. i figure it might be interesting for some people to alternate between a day of pull ups and then burpups the next day.

i understand that there are a few people who are doing different personal challenges like the bw deadlift challenge. so feel free to treat this challenge as your own personal resolution thread and post your results.

Day 1 - pull ups/ burpups +2 = 2 total

Re: new years challenge

burpup +2 (2 total)

i almost forgot to do these after my workout. i had to get my shoes back on and go back outside again.

i am choosing to do burpups since the last time i did the burpup challenge it really improved my metcons. i might switch to a few days of just pull ups and do this challenge as a hybrid depending on the status of my wrist injury.

Re: new years challenge

so the reps will be,

day 1 x 2 = 2
day 2 x 2 = 4?
day 3 x 2 = 6?

Is that the way this challenge goes?

adding 2 each day is the same as (or =) multiplying the days by 2. i had to think about it myself for a second. its funny when you have been out of school for a few years how we can forget basic math.

so day 10 would be 2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2=20 or day 10 x's 2 = 20

Re: new years challenge

Hi Ted,

I apologize for my ignorance, but what is a "burpup?"

Thanks!

no apology needed. a 'burpup' is a slang term for the combination of two movements: the burpee & pull up. you perform a burpee which ends with a jump that continues into a pull up. it is my favorite combination movement. it leaves me toasted.

burpup +4 (6 total)

Thanks, Ted. So Okay......burpee ending in a pull-up. I can get my arms around that one.......but do you do (like for day 2); two pullups and then two burpups, or just 4 burpups?
