I was going to type a response to this but don't actually have my first 5-10 yet so I wasn't sure I was qualified. I'm going with the go with who you know approach. I know quite a few LEO's in the area so I'm starting there. Hopefully when these guys and gals see what kind of results they get the word will spread.
I also really like Robb's idea and I think we will be contacting media personnel to be at our Grand Opening. We also have brochures and business cards that we'll be handing out and leaving in businesses.

Kurtis

Please let us know about your grand opening, we will put it on our web site and try to round up some people and attend.

Let Nick, Nancy or I know if there is something else we can do.

Thanks Dave and Jeff.
Dave, we will be sure to let you guys know when we do our grand opening. I think we are set, now we just need to get our name out.

Thanks again,

Just unlock the doors and start working out. The rest comes naturally. You'd have to work to not be a hit.

What do people find they are investing as a startup?

It depends on what you are including in "startup". With rent, equipment, insurance, and other little things, my first year will cost under $18,000.00.

I know that this may be a record for rehatching an old thread but I am going to try anyway.

Crossfit is continuing to spread and the number of new affiliates that have been opening up is solid evidence of it. The last posting on this thread was August 8, 2004.
I was wondering if any of the newer(or old) affiliates have anything to add. For example, are most places now opening with an established client base from another venture or as the post indicates are you hoping that "if you build it, they will come"?
I would love to hear any kind of feedback about anything in regards to this.
Thanks in advance,
BradW
