Left crock pot out last night....

So I cooked a huge batch of chicken chilli last night and It got done around 9pm but I totally forgot to put it away. Still good to go if I got it this morning to put in fridge around 0530? Didn't take the lid off if that matters.

Re: Left crock pot out last night....

Did you leave it on warm the whole time or was it just sitting there? I would probably eat it either way, did a whole lot worse than that in my college days...

Re: Left crock pot out last night....

Well my wife and I ate it and were still good
But yeah It was very hot when it was done at 9pm. Yesterday when I warmed it up for dinner I fried it on the skillet real quick. Absolutely awesome.
I think I was just overreacting because it was A LOT of chicken and I was not trying to see that go to waste !

Re: Left crock pot out last night....

I'm not advocating this AT ALL but I have left fully cooked meats of all kinds out overnight many, many times and have never had any problems, doesn't mean that its safe but it has never hurt me or my family.

Re: Left crock pot out last night....

Yeah Tommy,
I think its just a question of when you cooked it and if the stuff was covered or not. I was just like "there is no way I'm throwing this stuff out!"
I hate throwing food away. Probably my top 5 pet peeves.
