I ran a Volkslauf run a few years back when Tustin Marine Base use to host 'em. It's very similar (if not the same thing) as the Pendleton Mud Run. When I ran it, it was a 6.2 mile mud-run with obstacles. 6 to enter, 5 had to finish. I think this run is the same thing.
We choose to run in boots, and even then, the mud was so sticky and "suction-y" it was hard to pull our legs out without losing 'em (boots that is). From the pictures it looks as if people are runnin' with regular shoes just fine... It is definately worth it. I just may try to make this one. October eh..? |

That is, without a doubt, the coolest thing ever. Anybody in Bakersfield up for a couple of houseguests who like to use the word "wicked" in every sentence and promise not to track any mud into the house?

Sounds a bit like our British Tough Guy contest -
http://www.toughguy.co.uk/ (mostly safe - there is a very tiny pic of two guys in thongs if anyone should be offended by that!) Of course, Tough Guy is done in January, in cold and mud. Looks like a challenge! |
