Talking Pick your poison

Ok...this should be interesting--provided I get responses.

the rules are simple: you have to outline a meal be it paleo, zone, both...

the biggest rule: IT MUST BE "TRADITIONAL" FAST FOOD--not Outback type restaurants, I'm talking McDonalds, Taco Bell, Jack-In-the-Box, etc. Of course this is all hypothetical, but you have no choice...it must be from a fast food restaurant (can be modified, ie. no bun, extra meat blah blah), and "i'll starve" is NOT an option.

Let the responses flow.

Re: Pick your poison

Carl's Jr $6 Low Carb burger...tomato, pickles, mustard, mayo, no catchup (sugar), no cheese

As close to paleo as possible I think...

Re: Pick your poison

Moe's fajitas with double chicken, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, a little lettuce, lots of pico, lots of guacamole, and forget the chips and tortillas.

But Hardee's (the Carl Jr.'s of the south) low carb burgers are definitely great as well and easy to find in a pinch.

Re: Pick your poison

Chipotle Burrito Bowl, sans the beans and cheese. Put it on a bed of lettuce and double the meat and add guacamole.

Re: Pick your poison

Not paleo, not zone, but what I'll have for lunch if I'm stuck without options:

Jack in the Box Chicken Fajita Pita, hold everything but tomatoes and cheese. Can't stand chopped lettuce on sandwiches or onions in general.

Then whatever side salad they have sans dressing.

Re: Pick your poison

Protein Style Triple Burger from In-n-Out. Grilled onions, mustard, no cheese and no house sauce. I had two of these while coming back from Tahoe w/some friends.

I also had this @ tahoe. Subway footlong in the form of a salad w/sunflower seeds, avocado, and a bit of olive oil.

And yesterday I had no choice but to stop at Jack In The Crack. I got their grilled chicken strips w/a diet soda. 177 calories and 37g protein!

Re: Pick your poison

Qdoba Fajita Ranchero Burrito, Naked (no tortilla). Comes with rice and cheese, which are fine by me, but if you prefer you can sub guacamole and/or extra grilled veggies.

Re: Pick your poison

I am copying and pasting this from my post in the Paleo Recipes Thread...

I <3 Chipotle

From time to time I have a huge craving for chipotle since it is across the street. I hop on my red beach cruiser with streamers (its my sisters). People point and laugh but I have only one thing on my mind. CHIPOTLE!

I push and shove through everybody like I own the place (in reality I wait like 10 minutes in a line of highschool kids, some I am actually afraid of.. they're huge and look like 30 year old linebackers for the chicago bears) I take a moment to reach deep for the inner hunter gatherer within me. I begin pointing at the food I want yelling profusely...

Burrito Bowl!
No Rice!
Extra Extra Extra Fajitas!
Double the Steak Meat.. wait triple that!
More Fajitas!
Tomato Salsa!
No cheese, No sour cream!
Extra Guacamole!
Some Corn on top!
I bow and say thank you..

Everybody looks at me funny as I cradle my behemoth of a bowl to the nearest surface to eat off of. I put my spear down and enjoy my catch. People point but I am happy...

Re: Pick your poison

Here is another of my fast food Paleo Recipes...
For those of you who are going to diss me for eating mayo because it has soybean oil... you're right but I don't care. If its made from egg white and tastes as good as mayo it just can't be bad for me.

Subway Tuna Sandwich but converted to a salad $5.00
Double the meat +$1.00
Ask barely any lettuce
Large Quantities of the following:
Spinach, Cucumbers, Tomatoes, Carrots, XXXXXXXXXtra Onions like insane amounts
Add Avocado $.75 I usually tell them to double the Avo for $1.50
Douse it in Olive Oil and Vinegar
Garnish with some Banana Peppers
For a Whopping $7.25 I can buy happiness.

I also buy that little bag of cut un-organic apples and swallow them whole out of the bag.

After consuming this massive bowl of veggies and Omega-3 filled possibly mercury poisoned tuna I grunt and let people know I am a modern day caveman. Maybe next time they'll know to take it easy with that lettuce and throw me some more tomatoes!

I <3 Subway!!
