Re: Big question!

Check out Performance Menu Issue #3 (performancemenu.com). In that journal is Coach Rut's ME(max effort) Black box. It is a mix of Max effort days and WODs. I am starting it tomorrow and looking forward to it. It is a great combo of lifting and crossfit.

Re: Big question!

Just do the WOD and scale them if need be.
Go to (wfs)http://forum.brandxmartialarts.com/v...ca03371d880e38
and find the workout for the day. Scale them to the level you think is safe and sane.

Tonned doesn't really mean what you think it does.. it's basically just how contracted your muscles are in a relaxed state :P

Anyway, just follow the WOD and get on a good diet, Zone or Paleo or IF or some combo of those seems to work well.

Re: Big question!

Hard, consistent, work will get you what you want. Many find nutrition to be the hardest work of all. We find nutrition to be over 50% of the puzzle. Don't get discouraged after the first few months, you need to stick with this. I also find people with cosmetic goals often quit when the going gets tough...the goal to look like Bruce Lee is just not important enough to push through the tough times. Make your goals performance oriented (possible towards you MT training/competition) and you will hand tougher.

Re: Big question!

Just read the givven anwers to your question.
1: do the wod, scale to your own abilities
2: to get ripped and look toned, folow a sensible diet. The prefered way of eating is Paleo and/or Zone
3: use the search function of the mesageboard
4: read all, yes, all of the faq,s, then read them again.

You do not need to do anything else. Warmup, workout, stretch/cooldown, eat and rest. And enjoy the results.
Remember, their is no secret. There is dedication, hard work and patience. That is all.

Enjoy, Johan

Re: Big question!

short answer yes, long answer it's up to you.

Doing the WODs will make you stronger everywhere, and more balanced out. By doing the WOD only (and scaled back at that) i got stronger faster in all the isolation moves I used to do then i did by doing only the isolation moves.

Just try the WOD for a few weeks, and see what it does for you, if you're not convinced then start adjusting. It makes no sense to adjust and add stuff until you give it an honest couple weeks (and be real honest that you are doing it properly, as intense as you can be and all that).
