Re: AllisonNYC

So here's Allison NOT getting a Muscle Up!

hahah aweosme.

I was seriously frustrated that day. I can do them ... I SWEAR!

Why do people feel the need to say not nice things about me on the board? I would never dream about saying anything nasty to someone. It doesn't even make sense to me.. but I stopped trying to figure it out.

You can't please everyone so just try to please yourself!

I'm doing my best

Re: AllisonNYC

Oh, f people who say things about you. Some people just have a hard time with successful, attractive women and feel threatened by them. And some people just use the internet to be an anonymous pricks. There seem to be plenty of people who respect you and admire your accomplishments.
Still, it's gotta be hard to read people being nasty.

Re: AllisonNYC

Great video AllisonNYC!

I really admire your never-say-die attitude!

i definitely understand the frustration with not being able to complete the muscle-up. i've taught many people at my gym how to do one and it still eludes me.

great job with the CrossFitting!

Re: AllisonNYC

Just blow 'em off.... you're so young and have so many years of good training ahead of you. You have to save something for later!

I'm 37 and still can't get one pull up.... when you're 37 hopefully you'll be able to look back on this and laugh. I look back at a lot of things from my early 20's and laugh.... and cry.... and gasp.....

BTW, have you seen the T-Shirt art yet? Gimme some feedback Ms. Muscle-up.

Re: AllisonNYC

Figures that was the day they decided to film. I'm the same way with my dead-hang pull-ups, still. Some days I can do them, the next day I can barely move 6" on the bar. At least now I know I'm not alone.

Your enthusiasm for CrossFit sets a great example. Maybe you push yourself too hard, but it's challenging to draw the line for yourself, especially when you're so close to success. You clearly know when to say when with your clients, though. I would have hung on that pull-up bar until my hands literally ripped off, if you hadn't yanked me down.

You're one of my CF role models, and a fantastic trainer. No one can take that away from you. Keep up the hard work.

Re: AllisonNYC

Lol so I just watched the video and I was at work, so I had to hit the mute button a few times. Nobody came in my office to ask what the swearing was about. Maybe they figured it was me lol.
I'm coming up on week 8 and that video was good timing-I'm tired today and feel like crud. Guess I now know why! Taking a break will be hard for me!

Allison

You can't please everybody. You're one die-hard tough cookie and keep that attitude going...chin up and don't let those comments mess your head up!
There will be plenty more out there but guess what?!? Just look at the number of views on you thread? That should always cheer you up, don't you agree?

Re: AllisonNYC

They do have a reason for criticizing you (that is, if they criticized you about rest). The entire video was tailored around the need for rest and the person who wouldn't rest and couldn't get a muscle-up as a result. I'm not quite sure how much of that was actual stubbornness on your part or just the way the video was made, but you probably should have given it a rest and based on what I've seen before in this log, you are inclined to workout too much. I would agree that the video makes you look bad, but at least there is a good lesson you can take from it. I can even take that lesson for myself what with my recent 1 off, 4 on, 1 off, 5 on catastrophe. Now I'm stuck with 3-4 days rest just to recover from that little bit of stupid ambition.
