Re: AllisonNYC

KK: I hate resting too. I'm pretty sure I'm making a reputation for myself of not taking my own advice. I tell people to rest and take care of their bodies but I rarely do it.
but I have been doing it for about a week now. I did the press, pp, pj WOD but not much besides that. I feel like I'm stuck in a rut now.

Evan: great suggestions. I've been listening to sappy love songs. I put on some Beyonce and shook my booty in front of the mirror. I'm such a bad dancer that it made me laugh and cheered me up a little bit.
About watching the baby on utube - I have my own baby to giggle with. I have a 2 1/2 yo brother. His name is Ethan but I call him Boobah. He's the love of my life and he has the power to make me feel happy no matter how down in the dumps I am. He's the most wonderful little thing to ever exist.

Gina: I think you're right. I didn't even think about that but it makes total sense. Crying, snapping at people who don't deserve it, being full but still feeling hungry, sleeping 12 hours straight and still feeling like a zombie...

Darn HORRORmones. I guess you're right. It will pass.

Re: AllisonNYC

OHS

10 x 45
8 x 65
6 x 85
4 x 95
1 x 105
1 x 110
1 x 120
1 x 125

I don't know if this was a max but I'm not totally comfortable jerking more from behind my head.

The whole thing felt crazy. It's my fourth time doing OHS and it felt very new.

The easiest one was at 110. I felt like I could have done a bunch. I guess it's a combo of a slightly heavy weight and by that point I was more comfortable with the movement.

I'm looking forward to practicing them and working to 15 at 125!!

OR if I could drop 10# I could make my life a lot easier.

Re: AllisonNYC

You're a lot better at OHS than me. 85# is where my form starts to crack, although I can still get at least five good reps in.

I think OHS has to do with your sense of balance as well, though. Not just strength. It makes finding your true limits somewhat difficult.

Re: AllisonNYC

Back Squats 3 x 5

Warm up: 5 x 45, 3 x 135, 3 x 155

180
185
185
185
185

I wanted to go up in weight but Keith had us do the same weight for each set. I've never done it that way. I usually work up and up until I fail for at least one rep.

My 1RM is 200. I think I could have hit 195 for 3.

Re: AllisonNYC

OHS Question:

I did the 85 x 21 on wednesday, worked up to 125 yesterday and did the back squats today.

I want to see how many I can do at 120. The thing is I need to do it in Brooklyn because I can dump the weight (we can drop weight even a little bit at the Box because the ceiling falls under us).

Would it be ok to do try it tomorrow morning or sunday morning or is that too soon??

Should I wait until Wednesday???

Also how do I warm up for man rep OHS? I felt like I got stronger as the sets went on yesterday but I don't want to wipe myself out.

Re: AllisonNYC

Angie as rx'd

25:10

11:26 improvement

Both of my hands were bleeding by the 40th pull-up. Made the rest of them really painful. you guys know how it is.

Push-ups weren't as bad as last time but putting my bloody hands on the disgusting floor creeped me out a little bit

Sit ups were anchored and took me about 1:30. Squats probably took less time than that.

If I can figure out how to keep my hands from falling apart I know my time will drop a lot.. Doing singles takes a longggg time. It wasn't muscle fatigue that was keeping me off the bar. Darn it.

Other than that I'm pleased with the improvement!
