For what it's worth- My Journey

If a picture says a thousand words, then a video montage must be pretty good too.

This is incredibly awesome. It's also what gives those of us just starting out the strength to keep going on the hard days. The beginning of the video is exactly where I am today and I am giving it everything I have so thank you for reminding me that the light at the end of the tunnel isn't so far away.

I'm glad you like it. That's exactly why I made it. It's hard for people at my affiliate to see where I came from because I've only been there for 5-6 months. Still, the oldest video in that montage is only from last Feb.
The first few months in fall 2009 were brutal. Super sore all the time, ripped up hands, etc. The stuff most people deal with. No video from back then. I worked just as hard, but the WOD's kicked my *** and I had a lot to learn.

Truly inspiring stuff Jay. Like Danielle said, it really hits close to home for us relative newbies, Its really hard to keep pushing through the frustration and failure at the beginning, but this is a great testament to the results you can get if you keep pushing through it.
Mind if I share it around?

Awesome video, man! Very inspirational and brave to post not only your success but the frustration and struggle at the beginning.

Be my guest! I submitted it to HQ, so it may get around a little more than I was expecting. Who knows!

Like I said before, that wasn't even the beginning. All this video was taken after I had decided to give Sectionals a go (I came 18th and didn't qualify, but due to travel constraints with the Canada Regional some people couldn't go and I got the chance to).
If you want a slightly further look into my beginning, posted in page 102 of my log is sort of another testimonial titled "After a Year of Crossfit - It's not about the numbers". It takes a bit of a different angle at the whole thing and how I got started. It's been accepted to the CF Journal and should be out any time now (I submitted it in October).

Wow, I love this video. I used to say all those same thing to myself in my head all the time. "I've had 2 kids I'll never look like I did in my 20's." But I stuck with it and I'm NOT like I was in my 20's at all....I'm better! Thanks for the great video!
