Cool Hip pain during OHS/thrusters/BS

Help!

Second week of CF, using the main site WODs. I've been having some sharp pain in the outside of the right hip just on the back side of where the ball inserts into the socket, occasionally radiating down the outside of the leg to about mid-thigh. Pain onset last Saturday.

Pain is worst when descending through the sticking point (knee at 90) of the squat and again when coming back through same point. No issues with air squats.

I'm a former collegiate powerlifter, so I'm fairly confident that my form isn't too bad, although not as good today as it once was.

Looked up the physiology on google/wiki. From what I see, it may be an IT-band issue, but all the articles address pain at the knee end rather than at the hip. <http://www.emedicine.com/orthoped/images/1230552-1250716-970.jpg> pain is just above where the IT band forks and part heads to knee, part around glute.

Started doing IT-band stretches today. Has anyone had experience with this?
Thanks!
