I usually do mine at 10:30 PM, after work, dinner and home responsibilities are wrapped up. In the sack around mindnight to 12:30. Up between 6 - 6:30 and do it all over again.

I haven't had any problem maintaining this schedule for just about 2 years now.

Out of preference I do mine midmorning (sometimes I work from home), otherwise it's when I can fit it in. I've gone to MA practice, come home at 11pm, then got up at 5am for 5k run at times.

I did the 105 pullups/wallball thing at 8pm, then Linda 10:00am the next day which wasn't fun because the DOMS for both hit me at the same time.

I personally like to train around 5:00 pm. This way I'll be able to get a recovery meal in and then eat a fairly large dinner around 8. I like the way this works, because eating dinner around 8 prevents me from eating late night.

Well..
I like to train in the morning. With my job something always comes up in the afternoon. So Mon-Wen-Fri it's 0730-0900ish, Tue-Thu it's 1100-1230. On Mon and Wen I have karate at 1800-1930, and on Sat it's from 0900-1130.

I prefer morning workouts since by the end of my day I'm sapped. Working on computers and sitting all the time does that.

I'm up at 5am and in the gym by 5:30. I MUCH prefer to work out in the late afternoon and seem to have much more energy/strength/stamina at that time. The problem is that if I don't get the WOD in early something always "steals" that time.

I've been doing the WODs on a 5/2 for two months now and always at 5am on an empty stomach. My performance dipped a bit at first, but I've hit some PRs in the last couple of weeks.

for the most part, the fitness indusrty has come to these conclusions:

morning exercisers (as well as at home exercisers) have better adherance.

no matter when you work out your metabolism will rise, (which, of course, includes your body temperature). this makes evening exercise (within 2 hours of bedtime) not recommended.
our body temps begin to fall throughout the evening to prepare us for sleep. exercise counteracts this process (as does warm showers/baths).

as long as you have no trouble sleeping, then the bottom line concensus is this;

the best time to exercise is when YOU will be most likely to do it.

During the weekdays, I workout around 7-8 pm after work. If I get a chance during the weekend, it's before 12 pm.
