Hip/groin muscle bulging?

Hi all,
I am obviously not looking for a real diagnosis and will seek a doctor about this, but I am wondering whether this is something people have experienced, and what type of injury it may be.
I have a bulge the size of a quarter just below the skin in the front of my right hip area, accompanied by soreness, which has persisted for a good five days. The last time I worked out was 14.1 on Thursday as I was hoping it would go away with rest (and it's been Mardi gras here in New Orleans ;])
Based on diagrams I've looked at it could be a hip adductor muscle (pectinius muscle actually seems to be the most accurate area).
The pain is very localized and barely even hurts when I sit way deep in a squat position. Could it still be a muscle tear which causes the bulge? Or a hernia?
My best thought is that it happened from bouncing the bar off my hips on the snatches during 14.1, but I had no bruising whatsoever and the inflammation didn't show up until a day later or so.

If y'all have had anything like this let me know. Thanks everyone.

Re: Hip/groin muscle bulging?

Definitely go get it checked out. Did you notice any kind of pop or sharp pang lately?

My money's on some type of hernia, maybe inguinal or femoral.

Good luck with diagnosis and treatment. I pulled my groin 4 weeks ago, total rupture of my adductor longus tendon. No more split jerks or big box jumps for a while. Hoping your outcome is less severe and has a faster recovery!
