Well...I finally got around to training the hook grip in earnest. I have noticed that when doing cleans or snatches I can pull a much greater load while wearing straps than bare handed...the difference is really stagering. So I have started doing a few DL lock outs as part of my warm up and am really working it. I was incredibly weak at first...even worse than regular grip but I noticed quite an improvement today and will keep chipping away.
For you experienced OL'ers out there: how much of a difference in grip strength do you have between hook/no hook pulling?
