Re: Epic Bars (Paleo "Protein" Bar)

Best tasting protein bar I've ever had are Quest Bars. http://www.questproteinbar.com/(wfs)

If you microwave them for 10-15 seconds it brings them to another level. The chocolate chip cookie dough flavor is my favorite and after nuking for 15 seconds it tastes just like a cookie fresh from the oven. The PB cups are really good too, they taste better after being in the freezer for an hour or two.

Problem is they are FAR from Paleo.. that's the main reason for the post.. a quick paleo snack.

Larabars are similar to Organic Food Bars (If you've heard of them).. They are more of a treat than a healthy snack because of the amount of sugar but if it fits into your activity level and you need the extra carbs, go for it. The sugar comes from dried fruit, usually dates, cranberries, etc.

Those are glorified candy bars, Id stay away from them and the soy protein thats in them.

IMO the best two bars out there are the 1) Rad bars 2) Lara bars. Both paleo friendly . Both delicious. Rad bars are amazing.

if people like the way they taste and want to use them as a treat, then i have no issue with that. but for the cost they are not a good value for the nutrition.

Biltong is delicious! There was a South African "trading company" store near my old place and they made and sold their own fresh biltong, and any other beef jerky just isn't the same after having it. Sometime I need to go back there and load up on the stuff... but it probably wouldn't last very long

I was looking for a quick Paleo snack that I could pack with me on trips like long airport layovers and what not and came across these.. ordered one of each and they're amazing! What do you all think?

Few things that stick out to me:

1) Grass Fed Beef / Bison
2) Very low sugar compared other bars
3) High protein / quality fat
hmmm, interesting, going to check it out...for me Supreme protein bars is where it's @!

Nothing beats these little puppies post/pre-workout once in a while (Paleo or not):
