I'll use coconut milk for shakes, but I found after a strict month+ of Paleo and then reintroduction that milk does not bother me. I def. drink less milk now than I used to...whole, of course.
How do you milk a coconut?

Interesting comments on almond milk... I've considered trying it. I too would like to hear an answer to "How do you milk an almond?"

Great progress, Aaron. Keep it up!

Thanks for the advice on the book, Aaron. I went out and got it today and am going to try to start tomorrow if I can get to the store - all of my breakfast stuff revolves around dairy, cottage cheese, greek yogurt, etc.

Eggs, sausage, bacon, salsa, guacamole, onions, peppers, mushrooms, doused with some olive oil or with some nuts and fruit on the side...for me breakfast is by far the easiest meal to Paleo-ify every day.

One of the things I tell people abut paleo is get past the idea of 'breakfast food' Food is food. I just make enough dinner to have some leftover meals out of. I will pack dinner leftovers for breakfast and lunch. Shuffle them up to keep from getting bored. Mondays dinner will be wed breakfast etc.

Mmm, hungry.........

OP - Congrats on the quick, positive changes! To just arbitrarily decide to run a marathon - wow. What an inspiration for your kids as well. Keep it up!

Just google how to make almond milk (or click the link above). It's simply water and almonds, nothing fishy going on.

Have you read the label on most Almond Milks...there's like 10+ ingredients. What brand are you buying that is just almonds + water?

I think he's suggesting you can make it yourself if you are concerned about the added ingredients. Almonds (or almond flour or even almond butter) + water + blender + strainer = Almond Milk.

I haven't done it, so I don't know how much it yields. But it would probably be a good option if you are not consuming a lot every day.
